Department Summary

Surpassing network limitations of the past, our Wireless Deployment organization is building the country’s first cloud-native, standalone 5G wireless network. Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Tower Climber/Technician will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of DISH’s growing 5G wireless network within a geographical region. Tower Technicians will be a part of a work crew that will travel to cellular tower sites and perform work at both ground locations (working with electric components) and tower top locations (climbing up to 500 feet).

Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:

  • Maintain and repair equipment within the DISH 5G wireless network, including equipment upgrades as this exciting technology grows

  • Complete work on towers at heights of up to 500 feet high, while maintaining a focus on safety at all times

  • Collaborate with Network operations and Construction operation teams

  • Install and maintain HughesNet Gen 5 satellite broadband equipment that serves as the backhaul for some of our tower sites

  • Assist with build out of Multichannel Video and Data Distribution Service (MVDDS) technology deployed by DISH. This is the first mass deployment of this type of system in the US; the system uses 25 MHz sections of bandwidth in the 12.2 – 12.7 GHz frequency range to transmit signal terrestrially

  • Up to 100% travel required

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Ideal technicians have:

  • High energy, resourcefulness, and ability to multitask

  • Strong communicative skills, with a high degree of integrity

  • Electrical, maintenance/repair, cable, and/or military

  • Ability to travel and work remote for 3-4 weeks at a time

All technicians must have:

  • Ability to work in verious weather condition both hot and cold

  • Ability to stand/work for long periods of time on remote tower sites, lift over 70 lbs. at times, and remain within the individual weight requirement of 250 lbs

  • Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets DISH's minimum safety standard

  • Resilience in the face of a fast-paced and changing environment

  • Ability to pivot work hours; five/six-day workweeks may be required

Salary Ranges

Compensation: $22.50/Hour

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
